Women in Politics Pt.1

The first half of a discussion of women in politics with our host, Freshie, and our first two guests, Selam and Alison! The three will delve into the causes and effects of the lack of women in politics, the objectification of women, the intersectionality of race and gender in politics, and how women are perceived versus men. Black Girls Vote, Girls Inc., YWCA, National Organization for Women (NOW), United State of Women Alison Cedarbaum and Selam Ambaw are two high school seniors from Flemington, New Jersey. Deeply involved in civic engagement and the political world, Selam and Alison are a former YMCA Secretary General and current YMCA Youth Governor of NJ, respectively. Beyond that, they both currently serve as officers of their local political party committee youth branch, do work with their school’s gender equality club, along with having pursued several volunteer opportunities in campaigning and advocacy!
